“How far can we see within?” brings together the works of Sino-Canadian artists, born in China and adopted in Canada. Having grown up estranged from their original home and culture, they attempt to reconnect with their Chinese identity through creativity and the contact with pieces of their past. Originating from common ideas, the artworks echo each other, inviting the public to enter into a contemporary dialogue about identity.

Within this context, Corinne Beaumier (b.1989)s works evoke the traceability of information through time in her paper cutting series "Le fond et la forme" and photography diptych "Couleurs non imprimables".

Also interested in the reinventing archival photos, 童宙 Tong Zhou Lafrance (b.1998) examines the reconstruction of cross-cultural heritage, the intersection between the splendid and the mundane, and the migratory nature of the sense of belonging. In the works, "From: China; To: Canada", "The Chinese Dream" and "Untitled Labour", Tong Zhou Lafrance cuts and reweaves her own photographic memories.

A result of a glitch art experiment, 安媛 An Laurence (b.1994)s “Alt + R” series is an exploration along the same lines; manipulating, distorting and blending photographic memories to give them a new meaning. A professional musician as well, the artist created glitches by subjecting images data to sound effects. An Laurence and Tong Zhou Lafrance are presenting a new collaboration “Conversion Alt+R”, joining their respective practices in media arts and fiber arts.
