It is the record of a journey, both physical and conceptual, a passage from one place to another, from West to East, from one reality to its counterpart. It is a process, a transition where each step leaves a trace, manifesting in the artworks. Each of these works encapsulates an aspect of individual and societal dynamics. It explores herd mentality and individual mindset. While each piece stands independently - conveying a distinct narrative, exploring an idea, or speculating on meaning, their combined presence creates complex, intertwined, and often unexpected results. Together, they form a layered discourse on perception, identity, and the shifting boundaries between objectivity and subjectivity. The silhouette is a recurring motif throughout In Between - a visual and conceptual thread binding the various pieces. It represents a paradox: presence and absence, definition and ambiguity. The form withholds detail; this absence of specifics invites interpretation, allowing the viewer to project their own meanings and narratives onto the figure becoming a symbol of anyone and everyone, highlighting the thin line between personal and collective identity. |
